99 Souls – The Girl Is Mine feat Destiny’s Child & Brandy

Written by on November 9, 2015

UK House duo 99 Souls finally gets an official release of their version of ‘The boy is mine’, nearly 10 months after it first debuted online.

99 Souls Facebook page says it all. “30,288 miles & a stomach full of bleeding ulcers later, Resilience Records has done what the music industry said was impossible. 99 Souls featuring Destiny’s Child & Brandy… Yep, official at long last. Thank you to Brandy, Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams and Mathew Knowles. Just as importantly thank you to everyone who’s been so patient, we were ready to move on to the next record but we didn’t want to let you guys down… Hope the blood, sweat and tears has been worth it!”

99 Souls combines ‘Boy Is Mine’ with Destiny’s Child track ‘Girl’ for ‘The Girl Is Mine’ and adds new vocals from Brandy. The result is a complete transformation of classic r&b tunes in a deep house masterpiece.

So far, the signs for sales are promising. The girl is mine debuted at #4 on the UK dance chart this week, just days of its release.

99 Souls aka Le Projet Secret desribe themsleves as “1 jazz kid + 1 hip hop baby who grew up and fell in love with the 4/4 kick drum.” They are lovers of every other genre under the sun and are hoping to bring the songwriting of Dylan, Marvin, Hal and Kanye to the dance floor.
