Flashback Friday: Greece 2000 – Three Drives

Written by on May 8, 2015

Remember this Ibiza club anthem from 1997?

Dutch progressive trance duo Erik de Koning and Ton van Empel, AKA Three Drives had a massive hit with ‘Greece 2000’. A great example of the anthemic trance that filled the dance floors in the late 90s, this wouldn’t sound out of place in a club today.

The track was originally released in 1997 by Massive Drive Recordings, with more mainstream releases on ZYX Music and Hooj Choons. A huge global club anthem, it is one of the tracks that defined the sound of Manumission Ibiza. Originally just missing out on a top 40 spot in 1997, the remixes saw Three Drives reach #12 on the UK chart in 1998.

Check out the video clip and the original mix from Greece 2000 (below) and relive those classic Manumission days. Happy Friday – share the love!
